Marist St Pats is one of the 26 Marist clubs affiliated to New Zealand Marist , and many MSP players have worn the national side's green and white.
The first NZ Marist team was fielded at the Masterton Golden Games (Golden Shears) in 1963. They played Albert Pryor's Invitation XV at the Solway Showground, a side that was virtually a third All Black team.
